“The main thing
I love about cycling is racing and training with all the youngsters. It is
just plain fun to beat guys who are half your age! If it wasn’t for bike
racing, I would be just another fat and out of shape middle-aged guy.”
Most cherished cycling accomplishments are finishing 4th in GC at the NORBA
National at Tapatio Springs in 2005.
Terry’s primary goals are to win a TXBRA M45+ road race, to place in the top
ten at a Master’s National road race, and repeat the top five performance at
a NORBA National race.
Terry got into cycling just for the fun of mountain biking. He eventually
wanted bigger challenges, so he started racing.
Terry’s favorite road race is the Fort Davis Hammerfest; plenty of real
hills to climb.
Terry’s real job is as a professor. He teaches exercise physiology which
helps with his training and racing. The bike racing also helps with his
teaching. His other hobbies are adventure racing, the occasional triathlon
and rock climbing.
