“The way I
started cycling was not wanting to drive a car. I love the unknown of how
far I can go.”
Chandler has many career accomplishments and highlights:
MTB: Sea Otter 5th in MTB Crit and 13 XC expert, Winning the 24 hour race
solo 2000, 2001 2nd in 2 man 24hour race. 2003 3rd in team 24hour. Running
in to trees!
RR: Nat’l team in 1993, Tour Morocco, Tour of Mexico La Ruta de Mexico, 252
mi endurance race in Arizona 2001 Cochise Classic 11hr 5 minutes on tandem.
4th in Nationals in 2001 on tandem.
Chandlers goals now consist of promoting cycling and stay healthy enough to
ride till he goes to his grave. His first race was a 75miler in Juarez,
Mexico on a bike too big for him. He says he just dropped with 5 miles to go
because he couldn’t pedal any more. That’s when they picked me up and took
me to the finish line. The Highlight of his career was 1999 winning the
Vuelta de Laguna in Torreon, Mexico. This is the oldest and most prestigious
Stage Race in Mexico. What made this victory extra special was that it was
the family ties involved… Chandler grandmother was from Torreon.
Chandler’s passion is making his family (Andy and Hoss) happy. He also
enjoys riding his motorcycle solo and being with real good friends.
