“I am
always working on improving my skills as a racer. Finding the sport of
cycling has improved my life in many ways. I feel healthier, happier, and
just all around have a better outlook on life. I like to set an example for
my son and other young athletes. If you work hard at something, you will
achieve your goals.”
Currently rancked eight in the TXBRA Men 4 Div, Jeremy was seventh in the
general classification at the Columbus stage race 2005. At the Memorial Crit
2005 series, he placed fourth overall with several second place finishes in
the 4/5 category. His ultimate goal is to become a Cat 1 racer on road.
While pursuing this goal, he would like to race in other cycling disciplines
like cyclo-cross, mountain, and track.
Jeremy started out as a club rider riding in groups on weekends. Then, he
decided to take my cycling to the next level and race the Fayetteville stage
race after seeing a race flyer in 2003.
An all around rider with many strengths, Jeremy can climb well at the front
of the pack, he has sustained power to break away or bridge up to a group,
and can sprint well when needed. He is versatile and perform best as a team
worker. He feels he has the potential to improve in all of these areas in
order to accomplish more out of cycling. He prefers racing stages that
combine all types of terrains like flats, hills, and rollers which help even
out the field.
A native of La Porte, Texas, Jeremy graduated from San Jacinto College and
is a Terminal Manager for a stevedore at the Port of Houston. Cycling and
running are his interests, and he also enjoys spending time with his family
going to movies and traveling.
