Guess Who's Back
by Allen Forbis
April 23, 2006
-- Saint Jo is only about 6 hours from our home base of Webster, Texas.
No big deal right? From the get go this trip was going to be all about the
friendship and the experience and not the racing. Things started out good
with 100 muffins and someone ordering a really girly drink from Starbucks.
There were 4 guys in our truck but the person with the best story was Mr.
James Janoch.
Due to a knee injury, James has been out of racing for almost 2 years and
chose this event to start racing again. I think it had a lot to do with his
brand new, custom painted, Cannondale Rush as the driving force that pushed
him back out there. Seeing James’ enthusiasm made racing fun for the whole
group. He put in a solid performance and even renewed his annual licensee
which means this fall you better watch out for him.

The Bar-H Ranch was great. Lots of long climbs, a 40 mph downhill start, and
90 percent of the course was bermed and as smooth as glass, so flipping
fast. Lucky! Matt took home the bragging rights for fastest two laps and
best finish of 8th amongst the group while Brian and I started what will be
an endless comparison of race times. On the way home we were all pretty out
of it so I took the time to ask Brian a really tough question.
AF: Do you ever think about having your last name changed from Freeze to
Fire?
BF: NO!
AF: Thank You. |
